Mass Save Savings through energy efficiency

Mass Save just recently announced the changes to their rebate incentives for qualified Massachusetts residents. The most notable is for qualifying Mass Save rebate customers that have fossil fuels, such as gas, propane, and oil. In 2024, Mass Save will be ending their rebates and financing for any fossil fuel home solutions.

In 2024 Mass Save Completely Phases Out Fossil Fuels

After August 2024, Mass Save will no longer offer incentives for high-efficiency fossil-fuel systems.

As part of this transition, Mass Save HEAT Loan applications for fuel systems must be approved by April 30th, 2024. System installations must then be completed by August 31st, 2024, to qualify for Mass Save incentives.

All Applications APPROVED by April 30th, 2024 and Installed by August 31st, 2024

Why Are They Removing Them Now?

For a number of years, the Mass Save program has provided varying incentive amounts for fuel boilers, furnaces, and water heaters. However, starting from the conclusion of 2024, Mass Save will discontinue offering incentives for fossil fuel systems. According to Mass Save, all fossil fuel equipment is required to be installed by August 31, 2024, and the rebate application must be submitted or postmarked by September 30, 2024, in order to qualify. Nevertheless, Mass Save will continue to provide incentives for applicable home weatherization and heat pump installations until the end of 2024 and likely beyond.
